It also described flooding, water infiltration in several areas and cracks in the concrete. The report listed several serious structural issues that needed to be repaired without delay. Morabito Consultants sent the report to the treasurer of the condo association on October 8, 2018. Morabito’s task was to “understand and document the extent of structural issues that require repair and/or remediation in the immediate and near future,” according to the report that was made public by the city of Surfside. It was a standard procedure to get the building’s “40-year Recertification,” as required by the town of Surfside and Miami-Dade County, the firm explained in a news release.
